Guo Haoying from Guangzhou and Wang Yibing from Chaozhou met as classmates at Jingdezhen Ceramics University, where their shared passion for ceramics and tea culture blossomed into both romance and creative partnership. While still students, they began selling their work at the Lotte Market, and within just one year had established their own independent studio before even graduating. Haoying focuses on ceramics production while Yibing handles operations, photography, and sales, creating a harmonious creative and business partnership that exemplifies the successful husband-and-wife studio model common in Jingdezhen.

At the heart of Fu Shan Xu lies a commitment to original design and the thoughtful modernization of traditional Chinese aesthetics. Their work demonstrates a remarkable ability to study classical elements—patterns, vessel forms, and color palettes—then express these through their own distinct design vision. The result is ceramics that reveal traditional influences upon close inspection while maintaining a contemporary sensibility that creates meaningful distance from ancient artifacts. Their use of calligraphy as decoration, employing the sǎ lán (sprinkled blue) technique with reserved white spaces, and typography that captures the effect of seal carving exemplifies this sophisticated approach.

Growing up in Guangdong province, where tea brewing is woven into daily life, both artists carry gongfu tea culture in their bones. For them, gongfu tea transcends mere brewing technique—it represents a living philosophy encompassing culture, etiquette, and a particular state of mind. This deep cultural connection informs every aspect of Fu Shan Xu's work, from individual tea vessels to furniture and lifestyle accessories. Their mission centers on exploring the relationships between tea and vessels, space and people, presenting a comfortable, relaxed tea experience that allows people to find moments of tranquility amid modern life's constant motion.
