Hand-Painted Qinghua Porcelain & Tin Tea Tray

900 $400.00

Hand-painted blue-and-white porcelain sits at the center of this small tea tray, framed by hand-worked tin and raised gently on warm brass feet.

The cool white porcelain and fluid cobalt brushwork contrast beautifully with the softly muted surface of the metal. Seen from the side, the slim profile and tiny brass feet give the piece a quiet sense of lift, allowing it to sit lightly on the tea table.
Each porcelain panel is painted by hand and available in two scenes: Cabbage Fortune, with its generous overlapping leaves, and The Boy, the Hermit, and the Mountain, a poetic landscape drawn from a classical Chinese verse.

Made to hold a teapot or a small arrangement of teaware, it brings together porcelain, painting, and metalwork in one intimate object.
