Xuande-Inspired Mini Tripod Incense Burner

Inspired by the bronze incense burners of the Xuande period of the Ming dynasty, this petite ceramic burner translates a classical form into something softer and more intimate.

Its upright body is defined by clean lines and subtle raised bands, while the paired ears align with three slender, hand-carved legs, giving the small vessel the presence of a much larger form. A traditional wood-ash glaze settles over the ceramic in a warm, milky rice-yellow tone, with a soft, skin-like surface that lends the piece a quiet sense of age.

Above, a hand-carved Ziguangtan wood lid creates a striking contrast against the pale ceramic body. Openwork scrolls allow incense smoke to slowly find its way through the carved openings, while a warm reddish Shoushan Furong stone finial rests at the center like a small jewel.

At just 9.3 cm high, the burner is especially suited to a scholar’s desk, tea room, or other intimate space—a small vessel for fragrance and a quiet moment of one’s own.
