$680.00This kettle is the latest design in Cheng Wei's ongoing Hui Shan series of red-clay teaware. With this piece, he has crafted a cute & beautiful tea kettle with the classic dimensions of an apple.
The poem on the kettle is hand-carved using "Seal Script", which was a style of calligraphy developed in the 1st millennium BC and ultimately became the official formal script for the Qin Dynasty. During the Han Dynasty, seal script was used primarily for decorate engraving - a tradition that continues through today.
