Made from coarse clay and fired at high temperature, this tea tray preserves the raw character of its material rather than smoothing it away. Fine mineral particles remain visible across the surface, while concentric throwing lines travel through the shallow interior, giving the piece a texture reminiscent of stone slowly weathered by time.
The softly irregular mallow-shaped rim is finished with a slender band of copper. Against the dark, matte clay, the metal catches the light in a warm, restrained line—just enough to define the silhouette without taking away from the earthiness of the piece.
Run a hand across the surface and its making remains present: grain, ridges, subtle variations in firing, and the quiet irregularity of something shaped by hand.
