Made from fine purple-grey Zisha clay, the octagonal body is fired to a deep brownish-grey with a softly textured, almost pear-skin surface. A fitted tin top, finished with a slender copper edge, adds a subtle contrast of matte clay and muted metal.
Designed for Gongfu tea, the surface comfortably holds a teapot, gaiwan, or several small cups. Coin-shaped openings allow excess tea water to drain into the hidden reservoir below, keeping the tea table clean and composed. Raised on four sturdy feet, the tea boat has a grounded presence while sitting lightly above the table.
