Silver-Lined & Powder Glazed Wabi-Sabi Teapot (Cheng Wei)
This one-of-kind teapot by artist Cheng Wei embodies his wabi-sabi philosophy and appreciation for organic forms. The sides are naturally slightly misshapen and the powdered glaze developed tiny unpredictable bubbles during firing to provide the organic texture. Given this organic shape, Cheng Wei then outlined the lid and the mouth of the teapot with silver to cap his exploration of the positive complements between the natural and the elegantly human.
